Deirdre Byerly
 Deirdre
has worked as a home monitor with a Child and Adult
Care Food Program (CACFP) sponsor in Colorado for
more than a decade. 3E grew out of her frustration
with the hodge-podge of dry teaching tools she
worked with over the years. She longed for books and
support material that were easy to use, effective in
communicating the concepts and entertaining. She
realized that just because a book is educational
doesn’t mean it has to be boring.
An avid writer since childhood, Deirdre’s
personal essays have appeared in national magazines.
Two radio ads she wrote and produced won Colorado
Broadcasters Association awards. Put award-winning
writing together with an intimate knowledge of what
clicks with kids, and you have the genesis of 3E.

Lisa
is a freelance health and fitness writer and editor
whose work has won numerous awards, including one
for general editorial excellence from the LPC. One
of her novels won first place in the national Paul
Gillette Memorial Writing Competition. Another was a
finalist in the Delacorte Press First Young Adult
Novel contest. She’s the “Conan” of “
Jessica
Fernandez has a BFA in graphic design from the
University of Texas at El Paso. She has finally
realized her dream of illustrating a children's book
with this series. Her other specialty is doing
portraits in a variety of media.
